We will begin today by heading to Cup Noodles Museum in Osaka. Cup Noodles Museum is an interactive museum where you can learn about the history of cup noodles and even make your own original cup noodle.

Next our tour bus will make a stop at Himeji-jo, or Himeji Castle. Himeji-jo is a UNESCO distinguished site, representing Japanese castle architecture at its highest with almost all of the castle structure still intact from its original construction in the early 1600's, having survived all wars, earthquakes and natural disasters.

After our castle visit we will make our way to Kurashiki in Okayama. Kurashiki is a beautiful streetscape of storehouses and merchant homes, many of which are great examples of 17th century warehouses of Japan. These storehouses have been converted into boutiques and restaurants that make for great stops strolling down the streets of Kurashiki.

We will spend today exploring the city of Hiroshima. First we will visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Stroll along the park to see famous attractions like that of Sadako's statue and the freedom bell. One of the main highlights here in Hiroshima is the A-Bomb Dome, the only surviving building from the aftermath, and the Peace Park Memorial where you can see and read about the relic of the war. The A-Bomb Dome has been preserved to be a reminder of the tragedy for future generations and to symbolize its wishes for everlasting peace.

In the afternoon our Japan Cherry Blossom Tour will head to Miyajima, an island south of Hiroshima known for its Itsukushima Shrine, or "floating" torii gate. During high tide, the torii gate looks as though it is floating in water, creating a unique sight, considered one of Japan's three most beautiful sights. Miyajima is also known for its momiji manju (maple leaf shaped cake with red beans) and oysters which you can enjoy during your time on the island.

Then in Yamaguchi we will make our way to Kintai Bridge, a bridge consisting of a series of five wooden arches. The bridge is completely made of wood without the use of nails and has thus become a landmark of Yamaguchi.

4 Fukuoka - Kumamoto - Takachiho

Early morning we head to Kumamoto, an old city cantering on its castle. Kumamoto Castle is considered the most impregnable fortress in Japan up to this day. The founder, Kato Kiyomasa, was renowned castle architect in the 17th century who constructed castles in Japan and Korea. Our tour bus will be passing by Mt. Aso, so make sure you have your camera ready.

Reaching the opposite shore of Kyushu, we will reach Takachiho Gorge where you will see the beautiful waterfalls in the canyon and unique rock formations. This magical town holds a legend about Amaterasu and her cave. Within the city of Takachiho is Amanoiwato, the local shrine built near Amaterasu's cave. In the evening, we will go to Takachiho Shrine to see a traditional kagura dance based on the local legend.

5 Takachiho - Beppu - Dogo

Today our Japan tour will head North to Beppu. There we will take the pleasure in joining The Tour of Hell. This interesting little town is ranked second in the world to discharge water creating thousands of mineral springs. The Tour of Hell will focus on the eight most popular hot springs in town. You can purchase pudding from local markets that were cooked using the steam from the geysers.

After lunch, we will take a boat ride to Matsuyama, a castle city. Following the pattern of hot springs, we will visit one of the oldest hot springs in the world, Dogo Onsen, which is said to have over 3,000 years of history. The onsen is also widely known for welcoming the imperial family as guests and has a room called Yushinden on reserve exclusively for their use. Dogo Onsen's impressive wooden structure served as a model for the famous film "Spirited Away".

We will return to our hotel for a traditional style dinner, a luxurious multi-course Japanese cuisine. Afterwards, you have time to roam the old streets of Matsuyama or take a soak in the hot springs. There is a Taiko Show you can enjoy at the Tsubakikan Hotel in the main building for free.

Travelling East, we will visit one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan that overlooks Mt. Shiun, Ritsurin Garden. Michelin Green Guide graded the garden its highest rating of three stars. The picturesque garden features ponds, hills, bridges, footpaths, and beautiful pavilions divided into a Japanese style garden in the south and western style garden in the north.

Our last stop before hitting Osaka is Naruto, a small town off the coast. Here in Naruto, many hope to observe the large Naruto whirlpools which are created by the large volumes of water moving between the Seto Inland Sea and the Pacific Ocean between high and low tide, combined with the unique underwater geography of the narrow straight. These whirlpools can only be seen under strict conditions and times and thus we cannot guarantee seeing the whirlpools in action.

Before ending our day, we will spend some time at Osaka, Dotonbori, a popular tourist district for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The street is lit by hundreds of neon lights at night time, keeping the town lively throughout the night.

7 Osaka - Nara - Kyoto

We will begin our morning to Todaiji Temple in Nara. Todaiji Temple holds the World Guinness Record as the largest wooden building. Inside the temple, you will behold the largest Great Buddha statue in Japan. Just outside the temple is the Nara Deer Park, where you will be greeted by numerous deer that roam around freely. The deer here at the park are known to be friendly and may even bow at you for a little treat.

After our friendly encounter with the deer, the tour will head to Gekkeikan Sake Museum. Gekkeikan has been producing sake since 1637 and its museum displays some of its tools and explains its sake brewing process to its guests. You will also have the chance to sample some of Gekkeikan's sake, which you can also purchase at its shop if it is to your liking.

Our next stop is the Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of red torii gates that lead to the sacred Mt. Inari. Fushimi Inari Shrine is often rated Japan's No.1 destination by tourists and produces gorgeous pictures. We will then head to Sanjusangen-do, a temple in eastern Kyoto famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy.

In the evening, we will head to the Gion Geisha District, Japan's most famous geisha district. This area is filled with shops, restaurants, and tea houses and the area in Japan that you are most likely to run into real geisha and maiko on their way to perform at the Gion Geisha Centre.

Our first stop of the day will be a trip to the Kiyomizu Temple. The most iconic temple of Japan, Kiyomizu Temple is a wooden structure that overlooks the city of Kyoto. On the base, three canals sprout water representing love, wisdom, and longevity. We will then walk to Sannenzaka, an area of town with streets filled with Kyotoesque shops, an ideal place for souvenir shopping. This pedestrian only street is a great depiction of what the streets of ancient Kyoto looked like before modernization. Before we go back to the bus, we will experience some peaceful Japanese green tea ceremony.

In the evening we will head to Atami and you will stay at a traditional Japanese style inn.

We will then continue our Japan journey to Hakone, and delve the Hakone Open Air Museum which has approximately 120 works by well-known modern and contemporary sculptors. We can relax and enjoy the splendor of art in nature.

Next your Japan tour will head to Lake Kawaguchi, one of the five great lakes of Mt. Fuji. Nearby is the Itchiku Kubota Art Museum. Here we will witness "tsujigahana", the technique used to dye kimonos over five centuries ago. The beautiful works of tsujigahana are displayed in this museum which also stands in a great location with a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.

After some time gazing at Mt. Fuji’s beauty, we will head to Tokyo.

10 Full Day Tokyo

We will first stop by Edo Tokyo Museum where you can get acquainted with the history of Tokyo. Next we will delve in the old town district of Asakusa – shop around the Nakamise Shopping area and pray at the Sensoji Temple.

We will first stop by the Imperial Palace Plaza to get a glimpse of the current Emperor's home. Next the tour will head out to Edo Tokyo Museum where you can get acquainted with the history of Tokyo.

After lunch, we will take a Sumida River cruise to view the beautiful city of Tokyo from a different view from the sea. The tour will also stop by the famous Meiji Shrine located in Shibuya. In the evening, we will probe the Tokyo Tower, a symbol of Japan’s post-war rebirth as a major economic power before we return to the hotel.

Today we will be starting our day with an optional tour to the live tuna auction at the world famous Tsukiji Fish Market*. It's the biggest fish market in the world selling over 2,000 tons of fish per day. Though the Tsukiji Tuna Auction Tour starts at 3:15am, this district is buzzing with life and activities distributing fishes to all the sushi shops in Tokyo. After this Tsukiji Tuna Auction Tour, you will be taken to your hotel to pack and meet the group.
