Morning - Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion)
For this day, we will begin with a morning visit to the Golden Pavilion followed by a trip to Kiyomizu Temple, considered as one of the Japan's best-loved temple.
The Kiyomizu Temple was founded in 780 AD. and in 1994 the temple was added to the list of UNESCO's World heritage sites. It is notable for its vast veranda, supported by hundreds of pillars, that juts out over the hillside and offers impressive views of the city. The popular expression "to jump off the stage at Kiyomizu" is the Japanese equivalent of the English expression "to take the plunge". Thereafter, we will visit Ryoanji Temple, famous for its Zen Garden, (Karesansui or Dry landscape rock garden) which describes the spirit of Zen Buddhism meditation. After a dinner, we will visit Gion Geisha District. |

Morning - Todaiji Temple
We will start the day with a visit to Nara, where the highlight is definitely the Giant Buddha who has sat in his meditative state for over 1,000 years at Todai-ji, and Deer Park where numerous deer roam freely.
Thereafter, we will visit Iga Ninja Museum, Ninja were the spies of Japan's feudal ages, gathering information about the enemy and conducting various other acts of espionage. The Iga School of ninjutsu (art of stealth), based in Iga Ueno, used to be Japan's leading ninja school besides the Koga School in Shiga Prefecture. The small but excellent Iga Ninja Museum consists of a ninja residence with revolving walls, trap doors and hidden compartments, exhibition halls displaying ninja tools, gadgets and weapons and a demonstration zone with spectacular shows featuring ninja skills and real weapons.
At the late afternoon we will experience the "Bullet train" ride. Of course, the tour would not be complete without a long, relaxing soak in the Onsen hot spring that have rejuvenated the Japanese for many centuries. |

We shall begin today's tour by visiting Hakone, where we will take a Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani, the area around a crater created during the last eruption of Mount Hakone some 3,000 years ago. Today, much of the area is an active volcanic zone where sulfurous fumes, hot springs, and hot rivers can be experienced. From Hakone we will continue our journey to Japan’s most iconic symbol, the sacred Fuji-san (Mt. Fuji).
Shinjuku is one of the 23 wards of Tokyo, but the name commonly refers just to the large entertainment, business and shopping area around Shinjuku Station.
Handling more than two million passengers each day, Shinjuku Station is Japan's busiest railway station, served by six railway companies and about a dozen railway and subway lines, including the JR Yamanote Line. West of the station is Shinjuku' skyscraper district, home to many of Tokyo's tallest buildings, including several premier hotels and the Metropolitan Government Office, whose observation decks are open to the public for free. |
