Okushiga Kogen Resort is located in Shiga Kogen, the largest snow resort in Japan. Shiga Kogen has now grown to consist of 21 ski fields with 66 lifts and gondolas, and more than 80 unique courses.
With its long history and large size, abundant powder snow and a wide variety of courses, Shiga Kogen was honored to host the Alpine Ski Giant Slalom and Slalom competition during the Nagano Olympic Games held in 1998 Most of the ski fields in Shiga Kogen allow skiers and snowboarders to enjoy their sports on the same courses, but in the Okushiga Kogen field no snowboarding is allowed.
