Our most popular day tour, this guided one-day tour takes you to majestic Mt. Fuji and Hakone.

It includes a stop at the Fuji Visitor Center, a trip up to Mt. Fuji's 5th station at an elevation of 2,300 meters, a cruise on pristine Lake Ashi, and a ride on the Komagatake Ropeway which boasts great views of the surrounding Hakone National Park. This tour includes transportation to Mt. Fuji and Hakone by chartered bus with return to Tokyo by Shinkansen. However, there is a variety of transportation and meal options available, including return by bus (a more cheaper choice).

1 Fuji Visitor Centre (20 min)

Learn about current weather conditions, the history, formation, and ecology of Mt. Fuji through exhibits and movies. The second floor observatory deck provides views of Mt. Fuji from up close.

Remarks : If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic, Fuji Visitor Center may be omitted from the itinerary.

Hakone - Fuji Visitor Centre
2 Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)

Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level for breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding lakes on a clear day. Torii gates, shrines, and souvenir shops decorate this station known as the border between the heavens and the earth.

Remarks : If the Fuji Subaru Line to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station is closed due to icy roads, the tour will be taken to as high as possible.

3 Lunch

Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.

4 Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)

Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. The crater lake was born from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji from various angles.

Remarks : Cruise on Lake Ashi or Komagatake Ropeway may be omitted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. If either or both are omitted, alternatives may be used.

5 Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway (50 min)

Catch sweeping views of Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashi, Izu Peninsula, Izu Islands, Hakone National Park, and more while climbing up and down the mountain on an aerial cableway.

Remarks : Time required includes time spent at the peak of Mt. Komagatake.

Hakone - Komaga-take Ropeway
6 Disband at Tokyo Station

Arrive at Tokyo Station between 18:00 and 20:00 via Shin-Yokohama Station and Shinagawa Station. The tour disbands upon arrival.

Remark :
  • Please note that the tour may not visit the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway in cases of heavy traffic. The tour will not be cancelled, and no refunds will be provided in such cases. In addition, the arrival time may also be delayed. (The estimated arrival time is between 20:00-22:00)
  • If Fuji Visitor Centre is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic, the visit to Fuji Visitor Centre may be skipped.
  • If the roadway to Mt. Fuji’s 5th station should be blocked due to road surface freezing, the tour would be taken to the highest elevation point possible.
  • As temperatures drop significantly on Mt. Fuji, it is highly recommended to bring an overcoat or other warm clothing from fall to spring.
  • The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if the full view of Mt. Fuji is not visible due to weather conditions.
  • The Komagatake Ropeway or Lake Ashi cruise may be omitted or substituted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. However the tour will not be cancelled or refunded even in such cases. If either or both are omitted the following are the alternative choices: Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Check Point, Lake Kawaguchi cruise, pirate boat on Lake Ashi, Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani Valley, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, and Itchiku Kubota Art Museum.
  • Please apply for GPS audio guide at the time of reservation. The number of GPS audio guides is limited, so they may not be available to each of you.
  • The tour guide may not accompany back to Tokyo from Odawara Station. In this case, the manner of returning will be informed in advance.
  • Note the bus may make multiple stops at hotels in the Hakone area after sightseeing concludes.
