Kamakura Walking Tour

Visit Kamakura, a very popular tourist destination for its temples, shrines, historical monuments. Enjoy a superb view of Kamakura and the sea from Hasedera Temple before taking a short walk to the Great Buddha, the second largest Buddha statue in Japan. After lunching at a Japanese restaurant, take the Eno-den to Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine, the most important shrine in Kamakura. Walk along Wakamiya-oji, famous for the hundreds of cheery trees that line it, to the shrine. On the way home, stop by Komachi-dori’s many arts and crafts shops and tea shops.

4 Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine

The features of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, the symbol of the first Shogun Minamoto, are its arched bridge, Genji and Heike ponds, huge gingko tree, and colorful main hall standing atop 62 stone steps.

5 Komachi Shopping Street

Walk back to Kamakura Station via Komachi Shopping Street with some art and craft shops.
